Kobe Bean Bryant is an American professional basketball player, known for his work with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association.

  1. Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the youngest of three children and only son to his parents.
  2. He is son of former NBA player, Joe Bryant and Pamela Cox Bryant. He is nephew of John Chubby Cox basket ball player.
  3. Bryant is a big fan of Lakers, and started to play at age of three. His grandfather was a big influence in his early age by mailing him videos of NBA games.
  4. He studied at Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Lower Merion, and became first freshman in decades to start for Lower Merion Varsity Team.
