Seth Rogen is a talented actor, comedian and writer who has graced the world with his hilarious talent. Here are 40 interesting facts about this famous actor.
His full name is Seth Aaron Rogen.
Rogen was born on April 15, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
His mother, Sandy (Belogus), is a social worker, and his father, Mark Rogen, worked for non-profit organizations and as an assistant director of the Workmen's Circle Jewish fraternal organization. Seth describes his parents as "radical Jewish socialists."
He performed his first standup gig at age 13 at the Lotus Club, a lesbian bar in Vancouver. Because he was underage, some of the clubs (not surprisingly) kicked Rogen out immediately after finishing his set. His early comedic acts included jokes about his grandparents, his bar mitzvah, and his camp counselors.
He has one older sister, Dayna.
At the age of 13, he co-wrote a rough draft of Superbad with childhood friend Evan Goldberg, whom he had met at bar mitzvah classes.
When "American Pie" came to theaters in 1999, the writing duo was worried that the raunchy comedy beat them to the punch, but Rogen ultimately felt the characters in "Superbad" had more honest interactions.
Seth Rogen was raised in a Jewish family. His parents met in Israel.
A few years later, at 16, he came second in the 1998 Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest.

Seth Rogen attended the Talmud Torah Elementary School in Vancouver. Following that, he went to Point Grey Secondary School. However, with a career in comedy starting to bloom, he never graduated from high school
While still living in his native Vancouver, he landed a supporting role in the television series Freaks and Geeks. He starred as Ken Miller. The show also co-starred young James Franco, Jason Segel and Busy Philipps.

Following his performance on Judd Apatow's show, "Freaks and Geeks," Seth Rogen received the lead role in another show Apatow produced called "Undeclared." However, the network was unsure about his ability to be a lead actor. Eventually, Apatow decided not to continue with the show.
At the age of 16, he moved with his family to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career full time. His father had lost his job a while before and Seth paid all the bills for his family during their time in Los Angeles.

In 2008, Seth Rogen co-wrote an episode of the cartoon sitcom "The Simpsons" with Evan Goldberg. Rogen also voiced one of the characters in the episode. Rogen and Goldberg wrote many scripts together, beginning at the age of 13 with "Superbad." Their other works include "Pineapple Express" and "This is the End."

In 2008 Rogen made a cameo appearance in the Apatow produced film Step Brothers.
In 2009, he was featured in Apatow's darker comedy-drama Funny People, which starred Adam Sandler as a comedian and cancer victim.

Seth married actress Lauren Miller in Oct. 2011 after dating since 2004. Lauren's had bit parts in some of Seth's movies, including Superbad, Zack and Miri Make a Porno and 50/50. Last year she took the lead in a comedy called For a Good Time Call... .
Although there is no Alzheimer's history in his family, Rogen's wife, Lauren Miller, does have family history with the disease. Rogen is passionate about bringing awareness to the disease and actively participates in a charity called "Hilarity for Charity." In late 2014, Seth Rogen has been making headlines for his film The Interview, co-starring with longtime friend James Franco. Rogen is a TV producer and Franco is a talk show host in this action comedy. Their two characters are recruited by the CIA after they land an interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The CIA wants the pair to assassinate this communist dictator.
In July 2014, a North Korean official warned there would be retaliation against the United States if the film was released, according to the BBC News. Rogen responded the incident on Twitter, writing "People don't usually wanna kill me for one of my movies until after they've paid 12 bucks for it."

A group of hackers called the Guardians of the Peace launched a cyber attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment, the company behind the film. Threats were also made against any movie theater that agreed to screen the film. The FBI later directly connected the hacking of Sony to the North Korean government.
