Damian Lamonte Ollie Lillard, an American professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), has twice been named an NBA All-Star. Here are some very interesting facts about the basketball player:
Lillard is an American professional basketball player currently playing for Portland Trail Blazers as their point guard.
He was born Damian Lamonte Ollie Lillard on July 15, 1990, in Oakland, California, to Gina Johnsonand Houston Lillard Sr.
He is the second of three children to his parents. He has anolder brother Houston Lillard, who plays football for Red Hawks and a younger sister LaNae Lillard, a basketball player with Lakeridge Pacers.
He went to school at St. Joseph Notre Dame High School, Alameda, in California before switching to Oakland High School, where he was coached by Orlando Watkins.
He averaged 22.4 points with 5.2 assists to lead Oakland High School to 23-9 record in his senior season and also made it to the first team all-league.
He was not considered a major prospect with only two star rating by Rival and Scout. He accepted a scholarship offer to play for Weber State University, Ogden, Utah in 2007.
He grew up in Oakland, California, one of the most crime-ridden cities in the United States, creating a negative and sometime unbearable living condition for youth. His father Houston Lillard Sr. was positive influence and has been his best friend in those conditions.

Lillard moved his mother, Gina and his sister from Oakland, California to his six bedroom house in Lake Oswego in 2015, as promised. He promised her as a 13 year-old to use his basketball skill and provide for her. She was a coordinator in an insurance company then despite experiencing health problems.
He was named 2009-10 Most Valuable Player of the Big Sky conference. He was Big Sky’s overall leading scorer who was named for the second year in a row to the First Team All-Big Sky Conference.
Lillard averaged 24.5 point per game in the 2011season and won his second Big Sky Player of the Year award apart from making it to the final list of‘2012 Bob Cousy Award.’
On June 28, 2012, Lillard was picked as sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by Portland Trail Blazers.
He stood out during the 2012 NBA Summer League with average of 26.5 points with 4.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists. He named as joint ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the league.
On October 31, 2012, he became one of the three players in NBA history, to record 20 plus points in their NBA debut. He scored 23 points and 11 assists in a game against L.A Lakers.
