Mike Myers, famous for bringing life to many memorable characters through his run as a performer in six seasons of the "Saturday Night Live," is known to frequently appear wearing his underpants in movies. He has over 29 wins and 43 nominations to his name. Here are some really interesting facts to know about the Canadian actor:

He was honored with a star on the Canadian Walk of Fame in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 25, 2003.
The last letter written by the legend George Harrison, singer of Beatles, was addressed to him, which he received shortly after Harrison's death. Harrison has complimented him for his Austin Powers movies, and has asked him for a Mini Me doll. He till date has the letter framed and claims it to be one of the most incredible things that have ever happened to him.
His performance as Dr. Evil in the "Austin Powers" movies is ranked #35 on Premiere Magazine's 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time.
He was asked by Barbra Streisand, one of the most successful singers, to appear as Linda Richman, opening for her concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in the year 1993, which was her first concert in 22 years.
He, along with Jim Carrey, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, and Oliver Guimond, has been pictured on a set of non-denominated Canadian commemorative postage stamps, which honors Great Canadian Comedians. His characters Wayne Campbell, Austin Powers and Dr. Evil were also pictured in the stamps.
Michael John Myers was born on May 25, 1963 in Scarborough, Toronto, to Eric Myers and Alice E. Myers.
His parents were from Liverpool, United Kingdom, had has served in the Royal Air Force and British Army, respectively. In Canada, his father worked as an insurance agent, while his mother was an office supervisor.
His mother reportedly attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, before the family moved to Canada, where she quit everything to raise a family.
He is known to collect various model soldiers and has claimed to find the building and painting of the soldiers to be a kind of relaxing and comforting to him.
In remembrance of his father, Eric, Myers wears the ring his father received from the Encyclopedia Britannica Corporation when he was named Salesman of the Year, as his wedding band.

He grew up in the North York and Scarborough suburban districts of Toronto, along with his two elder brothers - Paul and Peter. Paul is an indie rock singer-songwriter, broadcaster, and author, while Peter worked for Sears Canada.
He, as a kid, reportedly enjoyed playing the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, which he claims gave the needed inspiration for his "Saturday Night Live" character, Lothar of the Hill People.
He holds Canadian, U.S., and British citizenship, but is known to carry a British Passport, as he had stated in many interviews that he considers himself to be a British.
His acting career started when he was only two years old, as he was performing in commercials. At the age of nine, he appeared in a commercial for British Columbia Hydro, with Gilda Radner playing his mother. He reportedly cried on the last day of shooting, an incident which led to his brothers calling him "Sucky Baby."
He went to Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute, but was transferred to Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute, to study the Television Production course offered in grades 11 & 12.
He was hired by Second City, on the very day, he graduated from his high school. It was like, he attended the last exam at 9 in the morning, went to his audition for Second City at noon and was finally hired at 3 in evening.
He is a huge fan of the American rock band Aerosmith, who was the music guest on "Saturday Night Live," on his birthday. He tried his best to meet the band, but couldn't make it. Later, during a "Wayne's World" sketch, the band showed up, as surprise "birthday present" to Mike.
He was reportedly a member of the band named "Ming Tea," with Canadian musician/producer Christopher Ward, and singers Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs.
Myers was also featured as Wayne Campbell in the music video for Christopher Ward's Canadian hit "Boys and Girls."
The scene from his movie "Wayne's World" where his ex-girlfriend Stacy gets him a gun rack to patch up their relationship, is actually based on his true story, where a girl he once dates broke up with him due to his preoccupation with his comedy, but wanted to reconcile things after a week and purchased him a gun-rack, hoping he would appreciate it. However, he didn't and the duo stayed apart.

When the "Wayne's World" was released, his ex, who was watching it with her new boyfriend, was mortified to learn that the incident had been written into the film and was also shocked to see the other characters referring to the Stacy character as a "pyscho hose-beast.”
Shortly after the "Wayne's World" was released, he tried to telephone his ex-girlfriend, in an effort to apologize for including a very detracting version of her in the movie.
He is a huge fan of the Queen, and has asked for the inclusion of the band's song in the movie "Wayne's World," instead of the studio's initial plan of using Guns N' Roses track. He even threatened to leave the production, if the song was not included.
During the filming of the "Bohemian Rhapsody" sequence in "Wayne's World," Myers and Dana Carvey, developed severe pain in their necks from all the head banging, which can be seen clearly in the scenes later, where they move their necks as little as possible.
According to director Penelope Spheeris, working with Myers has been quiet difficult, as she cited a incident, where he became enraged, flipping the table over, storming off the set, just because the snack table had only butter and not margarine for his bagel. He reportedly did not come out of his trailer for hours.
Director Spheeris is said to have declined to direct the sequel "Wayne's World 2," stating that she couldn't deal with him again. However, there are rumors that following an argument over the final cut of the original movie, he had her blocked from directing the sequel.
In the late 1990s, following the success of Austin Powers, he earned a $40 million deal to star in 2 films for Universal, with the first being Sprockets for which he had already written the script. However, he was sued by the company in June 2000, for backing out of his contract, to which he was quoted saying that he would refuse to honor the $20 million contract instead of "cheating moviegoers with an unacceptable script."
He started dating actress Robin Ruzan in the late 1980s, and married her on May 22, 1993. He refers to Ruzan as "his muse," though they divorced in 2006. The same year, he started dating cafe owner Kelly Tisdale, and married her in the fall of 2010. They have three children - son Spike Alan, and daughters Sunday Molly and Paulina Kathleen.
It is said that the Austin Powers character was actually created based on certain instances involving his family, especially his father, who loved watching British comedies, which in turn made him always want to play an English character in a comedy.
Myers has a street named after him as - Mike Myers Drive, in Scarborough, Ontario. Another street in Draper, Utah, around 20 minutes south of Salt Lake City, is also named after him - Wayne's World Drive.
