Courteeners, with five studio albums, was initially formed in Middleton in the year 2006, currently consisting of Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel "Conan" Moores, Mark Cuppello. In the year 2015, Cappello was replaced by the band's producer Joe Cross. Here some really unique facts about the English indie rock band:

  1.  The band members have reportedly known each other since they were ten years old, and are from Middleton, though they attended different schools.
  2.  It was Fray, who decided to quit his studies and form a band, after performing acoustic sets as a singer-songwriter around bars and at open-mic nights in Manchester, while studying at University of Salford.
  3.  He first recruited his long-time friend Michael Campbell, as drummer, though the latter had never played the drums before. The duo went by the name "Liam Fray," until Moores and Cuppello joined the band.
  4.  The gang's first gig was at the Manchester Roadhouse in October 2006, following which they went from strength to strength in Manchester, mainly through a word-of-mouth following, by extensive gigging and publicity through TV.
  5.  The band's first debut single was "Cavorting" released by Loog Records on August 6, 2007, which was followed by the second single, "Acrylic" which reached #44 in the UK charts.
