Robert Pattinson is best known for such roles as Cedric Diggory in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Edward Cullen in 2008's Twilight. Here are 50 interesting facts about this British-born actor.

  1. Robert Pattinson was born May 13, 1986 in London, U.K. His dad imported vintage cars from the U.S. and his mother worked at a modeling agency.

  2. Pattinson is the youngest of three children, and the only son born to Robert and Clare Pattinson.

  3. Robert Pattinson was often taken advantage of by his older siblings. "Up until I was 12 my sisters used to dress me up as a girl and introduce me as 'Claudia'!" the actor told the BBC.

  4. He attended Tower House School, a private school in England, until he was 12, which was when he was expelled from school although he never shared the reason for this.

  5. Pattinson began modelling at the age of 12, but his workload began to decrease four years later. In December 2008, he blamed the lack of modelling work on his masculine appearance: "When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool. Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modelling career."

"But Rob understood that it wasn't a frivolous role."
