Vonnie B'Vsean Miller Jr., the popular outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL), was named Super Bowl MVP after the Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in the 2015 NFL Season. Here are some very interesting facts about the American football player:

  1. He was born on March 26, 1989, in Dallas, Texas, to Von and Gloria Miller, who are in to power supply business.
  2. Once he was suspended indefinitely by his coach Mike Sherman, in spring of 2008 for his habit of skipping class and coasting through practice. Miller considered transfer but returned with newfound seriousness after his father reminded him of his commitment to the school.
  3. According to his mother he is the Dennis the Menace of the family. As soon as you think you’re safe, he’ll come up with something else. He once stuffed a dead snake under his brother’s bed a turtle in high school teammate’s helmet.
  4. Against to his father’s wishes, his mother secretly enrolled the boy in fifth grade pee wee ball. She would hide his pads inside her car and wash his jerseys in the garage late in the night.
  5. He attended DeSoto High School, Texas where he was part of Eagles football team and participated in the 100m hurdles, triple jump and javelin throw in the track & field.
  6. Miller graduated with a degree in poultry science and raises chickens in his spare time. He bought 38 chickens and raised it on his eight-acre property near Dallas as he hoped of converting it into a major poultry operation.
  7. Though his small size as a defensive lineman was against him, he was offered a scholarship at Texas A&M University, for his speed and athleticism. As a freshman he compiled 22 tackles including 10 solo stops and was named Freshman All-Big 12 by ‘The Sporting News.’
  8. As a weakside linebacker in his sophomore year, he played in all 12 games, making 44 tackles including 25 solo stops and leading the team with 3.5 sacks.
  9. In his junior year he was able to showcase his pass rushing ability as the linebacker hybrid. He was leading the nation with 17 sacks and ranked fourth with 21 tackles for loss.
  10. The 2009 was the breakout season for Miller, when he was named in the first team All-Big 12 at defensive end. He became the first Aggies since 1999 to be named in the All-American first team, when he was featured by the Sporting News and Sports Illustrated.
  11. In 2010, he won the Butkus Award as the top collegiate linebacker and was named in the first team All-American honors from Walter Camp, Scout.com, Pro Football Weekly, ESPN.com and the Associated Press.
  12. In January 2011, as South beat North 24 to 10 in the Senior Bowl, Miller was voted the Defensive Most Valuable Player.
  13. As one of the top 5 outside linebackers pick in the pre-draft measurable, he was ranked 2nd in the 40 yard dash, 3rd in the vertical jump, 3rd in the 20 yard shuttle, 1st in broad jump, T-1st in the 3-cone drill and 1st in the 60-yard shuttle.
  14. As only draft prospect, Miller was selected in March 2011, to represent top flight rookies in the NFL Labor Union class-action lawsuit. He risked his career of being branded a rebel.
  15. In April 2011, he was selected as the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by Denver Broncos to surprise of certain experts.
  16. His second overall pick was the highest selected linebackers since LaVar Arrington in 2000 and highest Aggies’ draft pick since Quentin Coryatt in 1992.
  17. Miller sported jersey number 58 in honor of his favorite football player Derrick Thomas as he officially signed-up with Denver Broncos on July 28. 2011.
  18. He was named the AFC’s defensive player of the week for his performance against New York Jets. He is the first rookie to earn in 37 regular season weeks and second Broncos rookie ever to win the award. He had career best 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks three tackles for loss in a 17-13 win.
  19. With overall 907 snaps, 11.5 sacks, 19 quarterback hits and 29 hurries, he was named Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year 2011. He was also selected to the 2012 Pro Bowl.
  20. Apart from being named Defensive Player of the Week 11, for his effort against San Diego Chargers, he was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.
  21. He ended the 2012 season with a single season franchise record of 18.5 sacks and was second in voting for Defensive Player of the Year. He made it to the first team All-Pro.
  22. Miller was ranked 9thin NFLs Top 100 player of 2013 and was one of several NFL players who visited US Army soldiers in Afghanistan during offseason in March 2013.
  23. In August 2013, He lost an appeal over six games suspension verdict in July, for an alleged attempt to cheat a drug test.
  24. On September 17, 2015, in 31-24 win against Kansas City Chiefs, he reached 50 career sacks in his 58 games to become the third fastest in NFL history.In the same season he also broke the Broncos single-game playoff record when he sacked Tom Brady of New England Patriots 2.5 times.
  25. In the Super Bowl game against Carolina Panthers, Miller recorded six tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and twoquarterback hurries and helped Broncos win 24-10. For his performance he was named Super Bowl MVP.
  26. On July 15, 2016 he became the highest paid defensive player in NFL history, when he signed a six year contract extension with Broncos for $114.5 million including $70 million guarantees.
  27. On August 11 2013, he was arrested at the Centennial Gun Club on a failure to appear warrant. He was charged since last October for careless driving, driving without a license and no proof of insurance.
  28. Miller’s charitable foundation ‘Von’s Vision Foundation’ is Prolanthropy-Managed Organization, which hosts two-day program annually to serve low-income Denver children before they head back to school.
  29. In May 2016, he participated in the ‘season 22 of Dancing with the Stars,’ as one of the celebrities. He partnered professional dancer Witney Carson and finished in eighth place.
  30. From being ranked 9th in 2013, he moved up to second place on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017. He was named to his fifth career and third consecutive Pro-Bowl and third First-team All-Pro.
