New Yorker Holds Up Hilarious Truth Bomb Signs

These past few years, protests have ensued all across America, ranging from protest against gun violence, gender equality, LGBT rights, and racism. Aside from the chants and the cheers, people are also on the lookout for signs that protesters use to get their point across and to get their message heard while they march in the crowd.

Some are inspiring and some are downright hilarious but with a valid point. This is what inspired a New Yorker named Seth Phillips, together with the founder of Jerry Media, Elliot Tebele to create an Instagram account and post pictures of him holding hilarious signs about the things that bother us but we don't talk about much.

Dude with hilarious signs

Seth does not only protest, but he also reminds people of what is important. He holds up a sign reminding everyone to wash their hands as the coronavirus spreads

He also called out Jimmy Fallon for his infamous laugh. For years, the audience of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has pointed out that the talk show host laughs at everything.

Jimmy Fallon is not the only celebrity that Seth called out, he also called out Justin Bieber to shave his mustache.

He also asked the public to stop wearing t-shirts with logos of bands that they don't listen to.

Seth is not a fan of the Fast and Furious movies, as he held a sign that asks them to stop adding more movies to the franchise.

He also asked the TikTok users to keep their videos on TikTok and to not spread them on other social media platforms

Seth believes that saying "no offense" means that you are about to say something offensive, and he held up a sign saying that people should stop saying that because it never works.

And for those who love to go to concerts, Seth asks you to stop posting the whole concert on your Facebook Myday and Instagram stories.

Seth does not only address the public, but he also held up a sign answering one of his grandmother's questions about his love life.

In January 2020, the world woke up to the sad news of Kobe Bryant's death after his tragic helicopter accident. Seth did not forget to thank him for inspiring millions of children around the world.

Since 2020 is not going so well and every month there seems to be a global crisis happening, from WW3 threats, the Australian bush fires to the spread of COVID-19 or coronavirus, Seth promises that 2021 will be our year.

Instant hit

In October 2019, Phillips and Tebele started protesting on the streets of New York City's SoHo neighborhood. Because the cardboard signs are relatable, a lot of people started following what they do, thus the Instagram @dudewithsign was born. The account currently has 6 million followers and celebrities such as Aladdin's Mena Massoud, The Original's Phoebe Tonkin, and politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are also following the account.

Phillips told Forbes "The corner usually fills up with people within minutes, and everyone has their phones out. When I'm finished, a lot of people will ask to take pictures with me or videos, which is still something to get used to. It's a very strange feeling, but it also kind of cracks me up that people are seeing me as a famous person for holding up cardboard signs."

Philips also said that he is just riding the wave, and as his popularity grows, he will continue to hold up signs to point out things that we normally ignore.
