Many archaeologists, especially those who reside and are in some regions in Siberia, believe that a mummy may have been a healer in the past and it's what keeps the country coronavirus-free.

Just like most of the countries in the whole world right now, Russia is one of the most affected and wrecked countries that was hit by the novel coronavirus. However, there is an Altai region in the southern part of Siberia where there were no reported cases of COVID-19, and many residents there believe that it is because of a mummy in the city who seems to be protecting them from the global pandemic.

According to some of the locals there in the unaffected region, they think that they have been spared from the virus and currently have strong protection against it, thanks to an ancient mummy that the region kept in a museum in the capital of the Altai Republic, which is the Gorno-Altaisk.

The mummy's history

According to The Moscow Times, the mummy was reported to be around 2,400 years old and was excavated from its original tomb ground, which is still within the area of the Siberian Permafrost, in the year 1993.

The mummy was known to be the Siberian Ice Maiden by the locals in the region, and according to them, she has providing the whole place with protection, including against the global pandemic.

The region's deputy, Yerzhanat Begenov wrote on a statement in one of the region's press conferences and said that there have been no coronavirus cases confirmed and detected in the region. The whole region has about 220,000 people, and according to Begenov the reason why the region has still no COVID-19 case is because of the strict and early implementation of the government of self-isolation and quarantine. Government authorities were also quick to respond and control on land and air traffic with the neighboring regions.

However, Begenov also mentioned that the region is also protected by some special protection because of the region's mummy princess.

Begenov revealed in a local news outlet in the region called Podym that the Altai people worship and praise the mummy, and the whole region treasures it and has become one of their culture and their beliefs as a region.

The mummy's power

He also shared that the mummy was once taken to a place called Novosibirsk, and when the mummy was transferred there, an earthquake happened in their region. Many locals believe including Begenov that the reason why there was an earthquake is that the mummy was taken away from its true place and that they should not have touched her.

What Begenov meant about the transfer of the mummy was when the mummy was removed from its sacred burial mounds, or to some locals refer it as kurgans, which was located in the remote Ukok Plateau. This happened when the Iron Age corpse was discovered.

Many of the local Altai people warned the government about spiritual forces that are going to happen if they dare to touch or remove the mummy, but at that time the government authorities did not listen.

Not long after the mummy princess was moved to Novosibirsk, an earthquake happened in the Altai region and it was considered to be one of the major earthquakes that had hit the land. The natural disaster was a sign that the mummy truly has power.
