Guy Was Given A Fake Number By A Girl And Ends Up Going On A Date With An Actress

When somebody you met whether online or in-person gave you a fake number, you might think the universe is being mean to you and is slapping you right in the face. However, for 30-year-old English teacher Mike, getting a fake number was a blessing in disguise for him.

The fake number

Mike is a teacher from Cleveland and while everyone is on quarantine, many single people are also going online and finding acquaintances. Online dating has become a thing in recent years, however, now that almost every place on Earth is on lockdown, online dating is the only dating option there is right now, unless if you want to catch the novel coronavirus.

Mike's online dating story did not turn well, because the girl that he matched with on a virtual date eventually gave him a fake number. While he thought he was talking to the girl he met online, the fake phone number was owned by 26-year-old singer and actor Codie Hilger.

How he initiated the talk

When Mike was able to get the number of his mysterious online date, he immediately texted the number and even sent her a photo of a lemon bundt cake that he made. Apparently, the fake phone number was owned by Codie, and when she received the text message, she was also shocked about the anonymous texter.

Mike's first text message started with him introducing himself and a photo of a lemon bundt cake he baked. Codie was surprised when she got a text from an unknown number, so she replied to Mike's text and said he might have gotten the wrong number. She even complimented his cake.

Mike felt embarrassed as he thought he was talking to a girl named Leah, and later on, realized that his online girl gave him a fake number. He explained and apologized to Codie that someone gave him a fake number and apparently it was Codie's number he ended up with.

However, despite the unlucky circumstance, Mike still went on and started a conversation with Codie and asked how her quarantine was going. He also introduced himself properly and told Codie that he is an English teacher residing in Cleveland. Codie was polite to reply to Mike's messages and went along the conversation as well. She also shared some info about her, including that she is an actor and singer.

The two got talking and went on a Facetime date

After a few messages and exchanging photos and stories, the two crossed-lovers decided to go on a FaceTime date. Codie shared that Mike was "on par" for her type and finds Mike cute. She also shared a photo of her on her Twitter account and said it was the first time she wore makeup for so long-- since it's quarantine and she's only at home.

The two had fun on their FaceTime date and they even planned to go out on an actual one when quarantine is over.

Codie went on Twitter to share her funny encounter with Mike and the tweet went viral. Most people think it was cute that they "accidentally" met, but there were also people who said they were meant to meet at that time.
