Dua Lipa, with three Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award and an American Music Award, is undoubtedly one of the most successful female artists in the music industry. She can even be dubbed as a total chart-dominator, as her songs have stormed the charts all over the world over the last few years. Here are some interesting facts about her that will make you love her even more:

  1.  In the year 2016, along with her father Dukagjin, Dua co-created the Sunny Hill Foundation, with the aim to raise funds to help people in Kosovo, who are facing financial difficulties.
  2.  She was honored with the Pristina Key, by the then-Mayor of Pristina – Shpend Ahmeti. This marked the first time for anyone to have received the prestigious award.
  3.  Lipa has been a supporter of Black Lives Matter movement and even attended a BLM protest in Hyde Park, London, along with her family, on June 3, 2020, in the wake of George Floyd protests.
  4.  Being an advocate of social equality amongst the LGBT community, she raised a LGBT flag while performing "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)" at a concert at the Palais Theatre of Melbourne on March 12, 2018.
  5.  During a three-day visit to a camp in Beirut, Lebanon, for youth and refugee children, in April 2019, she became an UNICEF supporter. She also visited the young Palestinians and Syrians in Bourj el-Barajneh refugee camp.
  6.  Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995, to Kosovo Albanians Dukagjin Lipa and Anesa Lipa (from Pristina, Yugoslavia) in London. She has two siblings – a sister named Rina and a brother named Gjin.

  12.  Her grandfather, Seit Lipa, was a historian of Kosovo Institute of History who died of myocardial infarction in 1999.
  13.  Following Kosovo declaring independence in the year 2008, she and her family moved to Pristina, where she learned more about the Albanian language and considered a musical career.
  14.  However, she moved back to London, when she was just 15 years old, and started working in a cocktail bar as a waitress to make ends meet, while also looking for opportunities.
  15.  She was honored with the Powerhouse Award by Billboard in the year 2020. The award is awarded to the act whose music dominated through streaming, sales, and radio in that year.
  16.  Even before her musical career started, she uploaded her own songs to SoundCloud. She also uploaded videos of herself covering songs like "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera and "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys.
  17.  In the year 2013, she signed a contract with Tap Management, who offered her monthly salary to quit her job and focus fully on recording music.
