Jennifer Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 15, 1990.
Jennifer Lawrence was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, to Lawrence & Associates construction owner Gary Lawrence and children's camp manager Karen (Koch) Lawrence.

For Winter's Bone, Lawrence became the third-youngest best actress nominee, after Beasts of the Southern Wild's Quvenzhane Wallis and Whale Rider's Keisha Castle-Hughes, who were 9 and 13 when they were nominated.
In 2011 Lawrence appeared in The Beaver with Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster and Anton Yelchin. Unfortunately, the movie failed to get any attention after Mel Gibson's infamous breakdown.
She then played Mystique in X-Men: First Class in 2011.
The actress was painted nude and covered in scales for her part. She told People magazine it took seven women each day during the four-month shoot to paint the actress completely blue. Her film House at the End of the Street was delayed and seemed slated for a straight-to-video release, but Lawrence's Oscar nomination for Winter's Bone put it back on track.
