David Bakhtiari, one of the best offensive linemen in the league, is actually the only tackle in the history to have earned first-team or second-team recognition, in the five seasons consequently from 2016 to 2020. In fact, he is the first Packers offensive tackle to earn first-team recognition since Gregg in 1967. He is also one of the just two Green Bay offensive tackles in team history, to earn AP All-Pro recognition in five-plus consecutive seasons, with the other being Forrest Gregg. It is said that it was he who introduced the Packers to the board game “Settlers of Catan,” which soon became a team favorite.   1.  The Green Bay Packers signed him to a four-year, $105.5 million contract extension that would make him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history, on November 15, 2020.
  2.  He was selected in the fourth round, as 109th overall, by the Green Bay Packers, during the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the ninth offensive tackle drafted and the first of two the Green Bay Packers.
  3.  On September 13, 2016, the Green Bay Packers signed Bakhtiari to a four-year, $48 million contract extension that includes $16.7 million guaranteed and a $15 million signing bonus.
  4.  During his rookie season, he went on to start every game at left tackle for the Packers, becoming the first rookie to do so in Green Bay since the start of the 16-game schedule employed by the NFL since 1978 and the only NFL rookie to start every game that season at left tackle in 2013.
  5.  He was a key contributor to the Packers finishing seventh in the league for rushing and sixth in passing for the first time since 2004.
  6.  David Afrasiab Assad Bakhtiari was born on September 30, 1991, to Karl Bakhtiari and Debbie Bakhtiari in San Mateo, California. He is of Iranian and Icelandic descent.

  12.  He claims the most memorable game of his high school career in football, was against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, in which he held future USC Trojan Kevin Greene to no sacks and only allowed two tackles.
  13.  While in high school, he created the Fund a Dream Scholarship, and also signed autographs at the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer in exchange for donations benefiting cancer research.
  14.  He was named Honorable Mention All-West Catholic Athletic League, All-Metro (Bay Area), and All-San Mateo County as a senior when he helped lead his team to a 6–1 league record, winning the 2008 WCAL Co-Championship with Bellarmine College Preparatory.
  15.  He was also listed in the Bay Area News Group as number eight out of 25 players from northern California on their 2008 Cream of the Crop team.
  16.  Out of high school, he was ranked only as a two-star prospect by Rivals.com, as he was six-feet-four-inches tall and weighed 266 pounds.
  17.  Still, he received interest from several schools, and received offers. He also visited Colorado, Utah, UTEP, and Washington before signing his letter of intent with Colorado.
  18.  Bakhtiari decided to play for the University of Colorado, and majored in Communications while playing for the Colorado Buffaloes football team from 2009 to 2012.
  19.  In the year 2009, he redshirted as a true freshman. And during his first year for the Buffaloes, he played in all twelve games, starting eleven.
  20.  In the one game, in which he did not star, he was on the field for 24 snaps. He played the third-most snaps on the offense with 796.
  21.  He had 59 knockdown blocks which was the fourth on the team. He allowed one quarterback sack and seven pressures and was flagged for six penalties.

  23.  He began his redshirt sophomore campaign with a severe injury to his knee in the season opener against Hawai’i on the seventh play of the game, due to which he missed the next two games.
  24.  On January 8, 2013, Bakhtiari announced that he had opted to forgo his senior season at Colorado and declare for the 2013 NFL Draft.
  25.  With his performance during the training camp, and the starting left tackle Bryan Bulaga succumbing to a torn ACL injury, he was named as the starting left tackle in the Packers first preseason game.
  26.  After his rookie season, he improved his strength significantly, and continued to fight for his position as left tackle with Bryan Bulaga.
  27.  With his improving performance, Packers decided to have him at the left tackle, and moving Bryan to the right tackle position.
  28.  However, he suffered a back injury in one of the games and was placed on injury report for the game against the Miami Dolphins.
  29.  On July 2, 2020, Bakhtiari proposed to his girlfriend Frankie Shebby who he has been dating since October 2017. The couple got married on March 5, 2022.
  30.  On December 31, 2020, Bakhtiari tore his ACL in practice and was ruled out for the remainder of the season. Following this, he was placed on injured reserve.
  31.  He was selected for the 2021 Pro Bowl on December 21, 2020. He also made it to the 2020 All-Pro Team first team on January 8, 2021.
  32.  Bakhtiari was placed on the reserve/PUP list to start the 2021 season. He was activated on November 10, 2021.
