Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr, is a professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is one of the most sought after and well known player in the basketball league. Here are 30 facts to know about the player:

  1. Wade was born on January 17, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. He father Dwyane Wade Sr. was a former Army sergeant and his mother Jolinda was a drug addict.
  2. His parents separated when he was 04 months old and had a very troubled upbringing. He was united with his father while his mother was serving her sentences.
  3. When he entered college he wanted to do many things he was restricted to do as growing up,such as piercing ears, wearing hats and to tattoo. He walked in to tattoo parlor and walked right out thinking ‘it just wasn’t me.’
  4. Wade credits his older sister Tragil for his upbringing and steering him into right direction. He was passionate about football and basketball.
  5. He attended ‘Harold L. Richard High School’ in Oak Lawn. He had to work extremely hard to get into junior basketball team. His high school coach Jack Fitzgerald was the biggest influence in his life during that time.
  6. He was recruited by ‘Marquette University, Illinois in 2000 but was not eligible to play that year as he had fallen short of academic requirements.In 2001-02 season he led the scoring for Golden Eagles and helped it to finish the season with 26-07 record.
